Our Story

In the fall of 2024, our founder was presented with an extraordinary opportunity: to take over an established and well-organized food hamper program. Despite not having all the systems in place—and being a team of one—she couldn’t let this once-in-a-lifetime chance slip by. With just a week to prepare, she leaned into her “take the opportunity and figure it out later” mindset and jumped in wholeheartedly.

From her teenage years, our founder has been deeply committed to helping others. She firmly believes that everyone deserves a second chance. Motivated by gratitude and a passion for creating equal opportunities, she set out to make a meaningful impact in her community.

At Harvest for Hope, our mission is to build supportive communities by addressing food insecurity, promoting equitable access to resources, and fostering connections that empower individuals and families to achieve long-term well-being.

We’re not just here to help people survive—we’re here to help them thrive.

Land acknowledgement

We acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples, including the Musqueam, Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh, Kwantlen, Katzie, Qayqayt, and other First Nations who have stewarded these lands for generations. We honour their enduring connection to these territories, including Surrey, Burnaby, Coquitlam, and the broader Vancouver Lower Mainland. We are committed to fostering respect, gratitude, and reconciliation in all that we do.
